How To Cut My Hair?? I want a CHOPPY LOOK!!?

I have long hair that reaches to my chest. Well, it's sorta choppy, but not really. I think I damaged it when I cut it, cuz I used a razor, like for shaving, and also slid scissors along my hair to make it choppy. It looks kinda choppy, but not really.

That was before I made it more choppy, but my bangs in the pic are what my hair is like all over. Sorry, have no current piccys. Anyway, I want to know how to make more defined pieces, instead of it flowing. Can you tell me how to cut it so its more choppy, or some tricks to make the layers as defined as they are in da pics, or any kind of styling advice for this type of hair? I want something like:

#1, go get your hair cut at a salon.

I used to cut my own hair too, but you can damage your hair, and make a huge mistake.

But if you like to cut your own hair, layer it. from the longest at the bottom, as you work up, cut one inch higher.

And extensions help with the look.

(In the pic, you hair looks very flowy, you need it to be a bit brittle.) Take some bed head manipulator, take a little, and work it all over. This will make it sort of spiky. Use something lighter for your bangs. then take some sections of your hair, and tease it. then secure with hairspray.

All those layers are really short, I'd get it done by a pro. You just need to cut the layers shorter is all.
