How To Curl Hair! help!?

Okay, so Homecoming is in a week and a half, and i am on the court this year and i REALLY want my hair the 'loose curls' style. Curling irons don't work on my hair, AT ALL so i was thinking about using rollers. I want my hair to look something like this:

Does anyone have any advice, how - to's or products i could try! Please and Thank You!!

If your hair is super straight, then my best advice is using a flat iron to twist sections of hair to get the curls. It works wonderfully on my super straight hair. I tried experimenting to see if texture spray helps, but I didn't notice much of a difference. I would suggest though to use something that will protect your hair from the heat. I like the smell of the Vo5 heat mist, or whatever it's called. It's lightweight, so just spray all your hair and shake it to let it absorb and dry, then use the flat iron. Section your hair and start from the bottom.

By the way: I don't like rollers, they take forever to put in your hair, and take out, plus they're not really good, unless you do them overnight. However if you want to do that, I like doing them without the rollers, and just start at the bottom, and roll it up and secure it with a large bobby pin (from the drug store--Goddy is a little better), all over your head, and spray a good hairspray (I like Dove Extra Hold--it's not too stiff, you can work with it easily). Then use a blow dryer to apply heat, then sleep, and when you're ready to do your hair, take them off, and spray again. That's the only way I can make that type of technique work.

Hope this helps!!!

first of all,it's loose waves...not curls and also, you have to make your hair thick but soft...then curl your hair.

Spray freshly washed roots with volumizing spray. I like Bumble %26amp; Bumble or you can try Aveda volumizing tonic .

If hair is naturally course or curly, work a straightening balm through hair. Here's a great list of balms .

Blowdry hair straight, starting at the roots to get extra volume. Hair must be completely dry for this look to work. Blow cold air at the roots to add volume (cold air locks in a style)

Separate hair into three sections, securing with a ponytail holder. (It's easier this way to curl your way through each section).

To curl hair, use a 1-inch barrel curling iron. Starting with one section, take a 1-inch portion of hair and wrap hair around the barrel of the curling iron. (Wrapping hair is different from the traditional curling method. You don't want to 'clip' hair into the barrel. Wrapping allows you to curl all the way to the root). When you're curling, make sure to leave ends loose.

Release the curl after about 5-10 seconds (hold longer if you want a tighter curl). You should have a corkscrew curl.

Roll curl and bobby pin it close to the scalp. (I sometimes skip this step to save time).

Alternate the direction of the curl as you work your way through the section. (It's all in the direction you wind hair around the barrel of the curling iron. Start by placing hair on top of the barrel and wrapping around, then switch by putting the barrel on top of the hair before winding it around). Alternating directions makes curls look more natural.

Once pinned curls have cooled, release them.

Remove nozzle from dryer and gently loosen waves with cool air. You can also separate curls with your fingers, just make sure not to brush them out.

To add shine, spritz a hair serum . Or forego hair serum and spritz with saltwater spray. I like John Frieda Beach Blonde Ocean Waves Sea spray.

Set with hairspray. Just don't overdue it, you don't want new waves to feel 'crunchy.'

What You Need:

Volumizing spray

Straightening balm (if you have thick, course hair)

Hair dryer

A 1-inch barrel curling iron

Ponytail holder and bobby pins

Shine serum

Hairspray

Saltwater spray

The best way I can think of to get loose curls is to scrunchie. Whatcha do is this : take a shower and get your hair nice and clean and wet. Brush hair and then apply styling mousse all throughout your hair. Proceed to put your hair in a wrap-around bun and sleep on it or let it drip dry if you want
