I ain't afraid of scissors so no answers like that. I have always got it cut and trimmed. I have three aunts that are beauticians; so its not that. I have long hair; but thinking about cutting it about shoulder length into a style. I don't know why I am scared to cut it. I cut it less than two years ago; but now that its long again; I like it long; but know what to do. I won't go no shorter than shoulder length; cuz i don't want to look like a boy. What should I do? Now everyone knows scrunching your hair leaves it flakey and stiff because of the jell or mouse or even worse it falls out after only half a day. However there is a product out there ladies you can use to leave your hair with the scrunch or curly look but not with that unwanted flakey, hard hair. It is called Softee(proteen gel). You can get it at Family Dollar or Wal-mart. Its just a couple of bucks for a large amount. While your hair is wet apply a fair amount of Softee to your hair from root to ends. Brush it trough with your fingers. The from end to root scrunch you hair over and over and over. Since you have naturally curly hair just allow your hair to dry natural. But for fun if you want you can blow dry your hair upside down while scrunching it at the same time. You end result will be beautiful wavy, curly, scruchy hair that is soft not hard and not freezy. Try it out sometime I think you will like it. And good Luck.

The past few salon visits have turned into disasters! I mainly want to cut my bangs. I'd like to layer them and keep them right above my eyebrows. If you can tell me how to layer it all, that would be a plus. I'm sick of paying $50 only to go home and cry about the mess made of my hair. It's waist length and the bangs are long enough to side sweep. I want them shorter. Also, my last hair style was layered but it's grown out.

Get some Bedhead Manipulator, massage a nickel sized amount into your hands and saturate all hair thoroughly when damp after your shower. You can let it air dry then piece it with your fingers and a bit more bedhead and scrunch the hair or blow dry it.

My hair always looks great using this method, I rarely blow-dry and I used to have problem frizzy hair.

put it in a pony tail, or gather it all like your going to have it in a pony tail, and then twist it, and then twist it all around and put a hair tie around it all, i'm not sure what its called and i'm sure you know what it is. its just hard to describe!

or you could try to dry it with a brush quick, but leave it down and bring cute headbands. if your hair is straight then how i dry mine in a hurry is that i just flip my head so i'm looking down, and brush it that way, and you should always have de-tangling spray. it works when your hair is wet and dry. and it smells good!

I have fairly normal hair (as opposed to oily or dry), so I don't HAVE to wash it everyday, and usually stick to every other day unless I have somewhere to be. I've had long hair basically all my life, and I've never really had a problem sleeping with it; I braid it back off my neck in the summer, and in winter I leave it down and toss it back out of the way before I lay down (I don't toss and turn much). Yes, it is a pain to style, and I usually need an extra pair of hands if I want to do something elaborate, so I mostly stick to putting in one braid for an accent, with a ribbon woven in for some contrast.

I have fairly normal hair (as opposed to oily or dry), so I don't HAVE to wash it everyday, and usually stick to every other day unless I have somewhere to be. I've had long hair basically all my life, and I've never really had a problem sleeping with it; I braid it back off my neck in the summer, and in winter I leave it down and toss it back out of the way before I lay down (I don't toss and turn much). Yes, it is a pain to style, and I usually need an extra pair of hands if I want to do something elaborate, so I mostly stick to putting in one braid for an accent, with a ribbon woven in for some contrast.

I have short ( a little longer than shoulder length) hair with layers. I want to dye my hair and it want black on the bottom half of my hair and some sort of blonde idea on the top half. i was thinking maybe keeping my natural brown color on the top and just putting streaks and still have black on bottom, or i could do the bottom half black, and have the top half split in half again (kinda like 3 layers on with MORE black and less of the other 2 colors) and have the middle layer be borown (Natural) and the top be blonde..i dont know what a good looking style would be that is origional so it doesnt seem like im copying anyone.. but i dont want it to look stupid. Mohawk and Fauxhawks are very out of date, having started (again) in the early 80s. Why not find an avaunt garde (cutting edge) salon and instead of following a trend, start a new one. I have short ( a little longer than shoulder length) hair with layers. I want to dye my hair and it want black on the bottom half of my hair and some sort of blonde idea on the top half. i was thinking maybe keeping my natural brown color on the top and just putting streaks and still have black on bottom, or i could do the bottom half black, and have the top half split in half again (kinda like 3 layers on with MORE black and less of the other 2 colors) and have the middle layer be borown (Natural) and the top be blonde..i dont know what a good looking style would be that is origional so it doesnt seem like im copying anyone.. but i dont want it to look stupid. I have naturally curly hair, but often straighten it and I love that it's versatile and I can do it curly one day and let it dry naturally or straighten it out...

Hair-bands are really "in" right now, so I would suggest getting some of those. Also, since your bangs are longer, think about pinning back just the bangs on the top of your head- it frames your face well and highlights facial features...

Use John Freida's Anti-Frizz line..it's HUGE and you can find a lot of products including Shine Serum, Shampoo, Conditioner, etc.

Try flat-ironing your hair occasionally, but not too much because it would be very damaging. If you don't flat-iron it, I wouldn't leave your hair down unless you put a lot of serum on it to de-frizz it..try putting it up in a ponytail with a little bow..it's so cute!

withj curls use a curlg enhancing mousse such as Vo5 and put that on wet hair dry with diffuser and then curl using curling tongs nd tehn sprqay with firm hold spary i use superdrugs own and never had a problem! for extra hold spray the ahir with ahir spray with before u wrap itaround teh tong and tehn spray once all sections are completel and scrunch curls with the hair spray.

The only thing I know is how to get loose curls. The method I've always heard works wonders is use 2 parts water to one part sea salt (its kind of like ocean water) and spritz all over hair after shower. It makes your hair look soft and beachy (not sure if you like that look)

I used coconut oil also and before I cut my hair people would always comment on how beautiful it was. Aloe Vera gel is good and so is Henna, (it actually makes each strand thick and soft).. I started taking DIATOMACEOUS earth because it kills parasites, (I travel alot, )

but the side effect of Diatomaceous earth is that it makes your nails and hair grow fast and feel soft and strong and thick!

Why? Because it is mostly made of SILICA a mineral that helps hair and nails and teeth. In fact my nails are growing so fast I have to clip them thrice as often! I also lost a lot of hair in India from getting sick there, but now its growing like a weed! and soft too!

Wet your hair, apply a little bit of curling mousse and scrunch while blowdrying with a diffuser attachment. This will look so good and won't be a super-drastic change. i think the third or the fifth photo will suit you fine. though with the shape face you have along with your large betty davis eyes you are one of the lucky ones who could get away with the more harsher less feathered cuts. i say go for it. you have clear skin and a nice jaw line and nice round eyes most short cuts will complement you but shop around do your homework and find out the best hairdresser in the area it is really important that you get a good hairdresser for a restyle.
